Donate to the Western Health Emergency Response Fund
1 April, 2020
Now, more than ever, our community needs our support! Please donate.
At Western Health we have been working tirelessly to prepare for the increased demand we expect for our emergency services over the coming weeks and months. We are well prepared to face the challenges ahead of us, with plans in place and increased capacity in our emergency departments and intensive care units across all hospitals in Melbourne’s west.
Our front line healthcare workers – the doctors, nurses, allied health and support staff of Western Health – will be working around the clock to make sure that you, your family and our community receive the best possible care. We know that they will respond to this crisis with selflessness, resilience, compassion, and care – it’s the Western way.
Although we have been preparing for what is still to come, we can’t ignore the fact that our resources will be tested and stretched to the limit.
How you can help
Make a Donation
We have established the Western Health Emergency Response Fund, to fast track support to where it is most needed, when it is most needed; now and in the future. Now, more than ever, your hospitals need your support
The Western Health Emergency Response Fund will empower us to act quickly when we need to. We can better support our doctors and nurses by providing equipment when it’s needed, by training and redeploying staff, or by ensuring that health workers are supported through busy or stressful times.
Your donation will help us to provide
- Support for a wellbeing program for staff who may be experiencing the stress or trauma of long hours in emergency or ICU wards
- Purchase new equipment to cover increased demand during a crisis situation
- Additional healthcare initiatives on digital platforms and expanded tele-health programs, to reduce hospital readmissions and relieve the pressure on our hospital emergency departments.
- Other items that we may not even know we need, as this is such an unprecedented situation that continues to rapidly change.
All funds donated to the Western Health Emergency Response Fund will go directly toward providing critical care where it is most needed – there are no administration costs or fees.
Send a Message of Support
2020 is the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife. This year, more than any other, we recognise the value of our front line nursing staff to our community.
Our nurses – along with the entire medical team, cleaners, caterers and other support workers – make up the backbone of our hospitals.
Write message of support to Western Health staff and we will post it on the message ‘wall’ on this website (and share as many as we can across our social media platforms). Your messages will be vitally important to staff morale over the coming weeks.
THANK YOU for your continued support, and for following the advice of our doctors to stay at home and protect yourselves from risk.
